Issues: Social Justice and Equity – Character Building

This activity seeks to encourage personal safety and prevent personal injury by encouraging students to describe exploitative behaviours (bullying) and the feelings associated with them.

Step #1: Read the picture book to the students.

Step #2: Ask the students to identify what the characters are feeling as well as the issues being addressed.

Step #3: Ask the students to try and think of a time when they felt the same emotions as the characters.

Step #4: Brain storm possible solutions to the problems at hand.
