The Children’s Literature Roundtables of Canada announces the winner of the 2009 Information Book Award
The Children’s Literature Roundtables of Canada have awarded the 2009 Information Book Award to Janet Wilson for her book, One Peace: True Stories of Young Activist (Orca Book Publishers). The honour books included A Bear in War by Stephanie Innes, Harry Endrulat and Brian Deines (illustrator), published by Key Porter Books and Robots: From Everyday to Out of This World by the Editors of Yes Magazine, published by Kids Can Press.
The 2009 Information Book Award of $1000 will be presented on March 27, 2010 at the Vancouver Children’s Literature Roundtable “Spring Breakfast with Jack Zipes” (one of the world’s leading authorities on fairy tales).
Congratulations go out to the other three exceptional and most worthy shortlisted authors, illustrators and publishers:
Tom McLeod, Mindy Willett and Tessa Macintosh (photographer) for The Delta is My Home (Fifth House Publishers)
Frieda Wishinsky, Elizabeth Macleod and Travis King (illustrator) for Everything but the Kitchen Sink (Weird Stuff You Didn’t Know about Food) (Scholastic Press)
Robert Bateman with Nancy Kovacs for Polar Worlds: Life at the Ends of the Earth (Scholastic Canada/Madison Press)
