Raquel Rivera wins QWF Prize for Children’s and Young Adult Literature
On November 19, 2008, the Quebec Writers' Federation held its annual Awards Gala at the Lion d'Or in Montreal. The event was hosted by Joel Yanofsky, with special interferences by the lovely Ms. Julie; Six literary prizes, a Community Award, and a Carte Blanche Prize were presented.
Montreal author Raquel Rivera won the inaugural QWF Prize for Children’s and Young Adult Literature for her book Orphan Ahwak, published by Orca Book Publishers. The $2,000 prize is sponsored by Babar Books.
