Biography
Susan Hughes has been editing writing children's books and articles for over twenty years. When she was in Grade 4, she and some neighbourhood friends formed a writer’s club. They enjoyed sharing their work with one another for several years. In the meantime, she and another friend, Barb, began writing and “publishing” a magazine about horses and horse-back riding. They sold “The Saddle and Bridle Club” magazine to their friends for 5 cents an issue!
Susan went on to study English literature at the University of Toronto. After graduating, she worked for over a year with a children’s publishing house. Then she began freelancing, working independently on editing and writing work. Susan continues to do this today, enjoying editing for educational publishers, and writing both fiction and non-fiction books, including Coming to Canada. She lives in Toronto with her partner, Ken, and their children
