Biography

Sheryl McFarlane left behind sunny Arizona for the West Coast more than thirty years ago. She is a former teacher, Chairs the Victoria Children’s Literature Roundtable, and is the award-winning author of thirteen books for kids. Waiting for the Whales, Jessie’s Island, Pod of Orcas, This is the Dog are a few of her titles. The Smell of Paint is her first novel for teens. It gave her the opportunity indulge her secret passion for track and field, including crossing the finish line first, albeit fictionally.
