Readings
Through slides, original paintings, Q&A, and lots of interactive drawing demos Ruth will share the process she takes in creating picture books as author and illustrator. The presentation may be adapted to suit any age group (Preschool – Adults) and specialty workshops (eg. Art students) are available.
Special Equipment:
Extension cord for my projector, cart for my projector, screen, flipchart with solid back to draw on, flipchart paper (lined is fine), table to display 5-6 books, microphone if audience is over 100 and in the gym, 2-3 sheets of paper per student (1 standard pack of 8 ½" x 11" will be fine for the day), something for the students to draw with (erasers are not needed).
Book Sales:
Copies of books can be brought to be sold and autographed depending on numbers and advance notice.

Biography
Ruth Ohi is the illustrator of over 30 children’s picture books. She has had the great pleasure of illustrating for authors such as Hazel Hutchins, Sharon Jennings and Sarah Ellis. Her books have been nominated for the Amelia Francis Howard-Gibbons Award, Mr. Christie Award, Shining Willow Award, Blue Spruce Award and the Governor General’s Literary Award. Her latest books include A Trip with Grandma (Spring 2007, Annick Press) and the 2007 Blue Spruce Nominated Clara and the Bossy (Annick Press) both illustrated and authored by Ruth. Me and My Brother another author/illustrated book will be released in the Fall of 2007. More about the illustrator may be found at www.ruthohi.com.
