Biography

Ruth has her B.A and M.Ed from the University of Toronto. She has taught high school French, ESL and music and movement for young children. She was a Sexual Health Educator for Toronto Public Health for 20 years and has recently retired. Her picture books have been in rhyming text. Although Ruth thinks of her books as suitable for children as young as toddlers and for students in primary grades, she has been told that The Bear on the Bed has been well received even by senior grade students. Her books are inspired by events and surroundings in her own life and have a whimsical and humorous quality appreciated by all ages.(And yes, The Bear on the Bed really did what she said he did on her bed!)
