Readings

In addition to reading, accompanied by blow-up photos of each page, I offer the children a challenging relay game (this depends on age and dexterity) using chopsticks and rubber flies! Trust me, they have a great time.

We talk a lot about language and culture, using a blow-up globe to identify Canada and Japan... and other countries known to the children. We discuss about our global community and how much fun it is to learn a bit of language and culture. I teach them several Japanese words they can use when they go home. Armed with colouring pages of the characters, students leave happy.

Book Sales:

Rebecca can bring copies of her books to the readings for students to purchase and have autographed.

Biography

Rebecca is passionate about travel and language. She celebrated her fiftieth birthday by leaving her job, selling her house, and moving to Japan to teach English; she also met her husband-to-be, Takeshi.

Six years later with an opportunity for another adventure, they married and relocated to Mexico. For her sixtieth birthday, Rebecca came full circle, returning with Takeshi to Canada where she pursues her zeal for writing.

Rebecca launched her first children's book, Fly Catcher Boy, (bilingual English/Japanese) in October 2009 and is currently working on her second.
