Biography

Mary Shaw - Co-creator (Author): knows a thing or two about hockey - her husband is former professional hockey player, now turned coach, Brad Shaw. Mary and her family have lived in Waterloo, Italy, Hartford, Ottawa, Detroit, Cincinnati, and Tampa. They call Kanata, Ontario 'home'.

Mary is the mother of three children - Taylore, Brady, and Caroline. She credits them for getting her into writing children's books. "They help get my imagination rolling," she says. Her son, an avid hockey player himself, was the inspiration for Brady Brady. Her oldest daughter is the inspiration for Icehogs defenseman, Tes - the 'Twirlin' Torpedo'. Brady Brady and the Great Rink was Mary's first book and more have followed in the Brady Brady series. In addition to her writing career, Mary is a sports fan and an active volunteer, spending time at her children's school, where the kids call her 'Mrs. Brady Brady'.
