Workshops

Mary Hays has experience in classroom teaching, in planning and implementing library programs and in facilitation of workshops for schools, museums, churches, libraries, parent and community groups. Mary’s workshops involve the participant in active learning. She teaches storytelling with full participation! She conducts workshops for all ages on a variety of topics including: traditional storytelling, oral history, family stories, storytelling with props, puppetry, readers theatre, speech arts, festival performance and vocal care.

Biography

Mary Hays has been performing as a storyteller and teaching storytelling for many years. Her storytelling adventures have taken her to Montreal and to Halifax, to London, England and to Brazil. She promotes literacy as a storyteller in schools, libraries, festivals and museums combining traditional storytelling, simple puppetry with the use of readers theatre. This high-energy approach lifts stories off the page into full technicolor life.
