I also read from my novels and talk about the importance of silence and inspiration.

Biography
Award-winning author, L.M. (Lucy) Falcone, was a couch potato growing up. She loved, loved, loved watching television and knew, from age 10, that she wanted to be a writer. Lucy is a former teacher who resigned early in her career to pursue her passion. Some colorful odd jobs kept body and soul together: Private Investigator for the Acadian Investigation Bureau, props assistant on feature films, catering for the television series The Golden Girls and Empty Nest and, she once applied for a job as a fish plucker!
Lucy eventually wrote for such series as The Littlest Hobo, The New Monkees and Nickelodeon’s hugely popular Are You Afraid of the Dark? During her ten years in Los Angeles she formed her own production company, Northwind Productions, and both created and produced the situation comedy pilot Choir Practice starring singer/actress Susan Anton.
Upon returning to Canada, Lucy switched gears and began writing novels for young readers. Her first, the supernatural thriller The Mysterious Mummer, was nominated for the 2006 Red Cedar Award and also received a Telefilm Canada grant for adaptation into a screenplay. Her second novel, Walking With The Dead, won both the 2007 Diamond Willow Award, the 2007 Silver Birch Award, and was a Honour Book in the Manitoba Young Reader’s Choice Award. Her latest novel, The Devil, The Banshee and Me, won the 2009 Red Cedar Award and was nominated for both the 2007 Arthur Ellis Award and the 2008 Young Reader’s Choice Award.
Lucy loves to travel when researching a new project. She’s lived in an Amish community in Pennsylvania, in an 1860’s cottage in New Brunswick, and on a sheep farm in England – in the very village where Robin Hood lived!
Lucy now makes Toronto her home.
