Readings

As a former teacher and school librarian, I can adjust my talks to suit the school’s needs. I include some writing tips in general, where I get my ideas and how they develop, a bit about how I write, a reading from one of my books, a short video, some physical involvement such as acting out a scene, a short question period, and if wanted, a short writing exercise. I bring several props and make sure we have a lot of fun as we learn.

Depending on the grade level, I can also do work on plot development, on using interesting words and images, on making settings real, and on opening scenes.
