Deborah has been speaking in schools and libraries for over a decade. She’s a former primary school teacher who loves to talk to students about writing.

She’s also an experienced presenter at writing festivals, professional conferences, and Teacher's Pro-D Days. She enjoys the opportunity to speak to teachers, librarians and university students and has a range of presentations to offer.

Biography

Deborah Hodge is the award-winning author of 25 books for children. She specializes in writing nature and wildlife books for the youngest readers and selected history topics for older children.

Her most recent title is Watch Me Grow! A Down-to-Earth Look at Growing Food in the City. Her other work includes, The Kids Book of Canada's Railway, winner of the Information Book Award of Canada, and Lily and the Mixed-up Letters, named an Outstanding Book for Young People with Disabilities.

Deborah is a former primary teacher and curriculum writer for the BC Ministry of Education. She lives in Vancouver, Canada.
