Readings

I am a reading motivator. I use my own poetry and my own experiences to connect with the children. I use my chapter book series, "The Brats Of Bensen School" in my presentations. I have free teacher guides that go with my books. Follow up materials are given to the teachers and children. I often present at Family Literacy nights for Parents and their children together. I use audience participation in all of my presentations

Workshops

I present an audience participation type of workshop. I motivate kids using my own poetry and stories. I am even using "RAP' to get kids excited about reading and writing. My presentations are funny and age appropriate. I give the teachers and students "follow up" materials that are based on my work.

Biography

I spent 10 years teaching at the Elementary level. I was appointed Reading/Writing Coordinator with the Greater Essex County School Board. I held that position for 25 years. During that time I was in the schools everyday teaching for teachers and developing new ways to motivate kids to read. I then spent 3 years teaching an Elementary methods course at The Windsor Teacher's College.

I have been presenting to Elementary School Children ever since. I present in Ontario, Michigan, Florida, and Arizona. I have presented at the storytelling festivals in St. Mary's Ont., Chatham, Ont. and Jackson, Michigan. I have authored 8 books for children and have number 9 coming out in August.
